This is the current timeline – it could change and will have more detail added in the coming months.
At this time it will be a 4 day event with lots on each day
DAY 1 – Thursday the 18th July 2019
This will be an orientation day. At a venue TBD (Possibly Woden Southern Cross Club Club) – pick up your badges, memorabillia purchased, sign up for special events perhaps. Then in the Afternoon/Evening a meet and greet drinks and canapés hosted at the ANU Kambri centre – hosted by the ANU and Nicole Lawder MLA
Day 2 – Friday the 19th July
A day at various Canberra venues – major events. Travel in luxury coaches if you want.
1. Visit Questacon Science Centre to view the awesome 7M dia moon and Apollo exhibition.
2. To the ANU Kambri centre to view some movies and hear talks by major players, including Telstra unveiling of Plaque for the Deakin NASCOM switching Centre.
3. Finally in the late afternoon/evening visit the National Museum for an event inspired by Andrew Tink which will include a Q & A Panel and media on the big screen etc.
Day 3 – Sat the 20th July
Coach or private transport to Honeysuckle and Tidbinbilla (Canberra Deep Space Communications Centre – CDSCC) for various activities. See the changes at the Honeysuckle site with a special unveiling, and see the HSK antenna at Tidbinbilla up close and personal. Refreshments at Honeysuckle and lunch at Tidbinbilla.
We are encouraging everyone to use the Coaches if at all possible as there will be limited parking at Honeysuckle. If you really like to drive – can we suggest you drive to the Namadgi Visitor’s centre just past Thawa and take the coach from there. National Parks and Heritage are concerned about frail and aged attendees! It is probably that they will get people to sign up separately (it will still be free for people who sign up for the lunch on Sunday :-))
